The Mini MBA

The working knowledge of an MBA — without the two years or the debt

NLA’s Mini MBA covers the same core disciplines taught in the first year of a traditional MBA — finance, strategy, marketing, operations, leadership, and analytics — condensed into an applied, practitioner-taught program you can complete alongside a full-time job.

CertificateOf completion, not a degree
Worth being upfront about:the Mini MBA is not an accredited university degree, and completing it does not confer the title “MBA.” What it does deliver is the same core subject matter a first-year MBA student studies — taught for application, not for exams — with a certificate of completion from National Leadership Academy. It is not transferable for university credit, and it is not a substitute for an accredited programme where the credential itself is what you need.
What You’ll Actually Learn

The same subjects a top MBA program teaches

A traditional MBA’s core year covers roughly a dozen foundational disciplines before students branch into electives. NLA’s Mini MBA teaches the same twelve — just without the electives, the campus, or the two years.

Module 01

Financial Accounting & Statement Analysis

Read a balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement well enough to judge whether a business is actually healthy.

Module 02

Managerial Economics

Supply, demand, pricing power, and market structure — the reasoning behind every pricing and competitive decision.

Module 03

Corporate Finance

Capital budgeting, valuation basics, cost of capital, and how to decide whether an investment is actually worth making.

Module 04

Marketing Management

Positioning, segmentation, and go-to-market strategy — building a case for a product the way a CMO would defend it.

Module 05

Operations & Supply Chain Management

Process efficiency, quality, and supply chain trade-offs — how operations decisions quietly make or break margins.

Module 06

Organizational Behavior & Leadership

Taught in partnership with NLA's coaching practice — how structure, incentives, and leadership style shape team performance.

Module 07

Strategic Management

Competitive analysis, positioning, and the frameworks (Porter's Five Forces, SWOT, value chain) behind real strategic decisions.

Module 08

Business Analytics & Data-Driven Decisions

Reading a dataset, building a basic model, and knowing when a metric is telling you something real versus noise.

Module 09

Negotiation & Business Communication

Structured negotiation frameworks and the communication skills to pitch, persuade, and close — in the room, not just on paper.

Module 10

Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Business model design, validating an idea before building it, and what actually separates a viable venture from a hobby.

Module 11

Business Law & Ethics

Contracts, liability, and governance basics every manager needs — plus the ethical reasoning behind hard calls.

Module 12

Global Business & Economics

Trade, currency exposure, and cross-cultural management — built from NLA's own operating experience across the US and MENA.

Who It’s For

Built for people who need the fluency, not the diploma

The New Manager

Promoted into a role that suddenly requires reading a P&L and defending a budget — with no formal business training behind it.

The Founder

Running a business by instinct and needs the finance, strategy, and operations vocabulary to make it deliberate.

The Career Switcher

Moving from a technical or creative track into a business-facing role and needs to speak the language fast.

The Coaching Client

Already working with an NLA coach on leadership — and wants the business fundamentals to match the leadership skills.

What a University Program Doesn’t Include

The add-ons only NLA can bundle in

Because the Mini MBA sits inside a full leadership institute — not a standalone business school — it comes with access most MBA programs charge separately for, or don’t offer at all. These three are included in every enrollment, at no extra cost.

Included

1-on-1 Coaching Session

A private session with an NLA executive coach to apply the curriculum directly to your own role or business.

Included

Leadership Assessment

The Maxwell Method leadership report, so you start the program already knowing your own operating style.

Included

Research Center Access

Full access to NLA's published papers and case studies as they are released — real citable research, not just lecture slides.
